| Rene´, what´s the wind doing? | ||

Rene´, our chief-meteorologist, had tried over and over again to download the important wind data from the web server. And just before the last bit managed to crawl onto the harddisk, this unnerving beep: "unexpected termination of the connection". Half asleep after a short night he came down to the breakfast room, where the assembled MWP-team expected latest news. And now this: server trouble!Claudias coffee helped to overcome the lingering frustration. And then it was time for Klaus to brief all pilots on the wave flying possibilities and dangers along the Andes. Rene´, finally succeeding in getting the wind forecast, called a no-wave day and so it was decided to use the beautiful weather for a series of air-to-air photoshots. We arranged formation flying with our Brasilian friends and their DG-500 and Wolf and Mauricio tried to get the best shots from airplanes and the spectacular scenery in the background. On Thursday Klaus and Wolf took off early to explore routes and waves south of Bariloche. After six hours they had made it down almost to Esquel and then they finished their flight with an excursion to Mt. Lanin. Saturday was another day with only a soft breeze and weak updrafts, a perfect day to plan a grillparty for the evening. No long flights would interfere with the necessary preparations for the event. Miguel and Marcello, our two glider friends from America, would know all the secrets of a genuine Argentinian barbeque and the big grill in the yard of the hosteria would make a perfect place for the party. The Brasilian crew had already prepared almost a gallon of Caipirinha, the perfect starter for the evening. Since Rene´ had - once again - dashed our hopes for vientos fuertes, nothing would be in the way of a gay and relaxed party.
